Performances

A variety of performances and presentations are held at the Hall. Some promoted by the Trust and others by promoters and performers who enjoy the fine setting and excellent acoustics of our Great Hall.

George Huxley and his jazzmen have been favourites at the Hall since it was first able to stage concerts. George always comments on what a pleasure it is to play here and his pianist says he never gets to play on a better piano.

The Intimate Theatre comes to the Hall four or five times a year and their performances are always popular. As their name suggests they enjoy the close contact with the audience that a small venue gives. When the stage is in place the hall holds 70 people. For other configurations the maximum is 100 including performers

Larger events can be accommodated outside the Hall either al fresco or in Marquees erected on the West Lawn, in the Glade or in the Hall yard.

The Trust frequently enters into risk-sharing arrangements with promoters but for our standard arrangements see the contacts page.
