Sir Robert Peel is Tamworth's most famous personage. He was born in Lancashire and served as an MP
for an Irish constituency before becoming Tamworth MP in 1830, but it was while he was associated with
Tamworth that he made his historic contributions to British life. The Peel Society is based in
Tamworth. It celebrates his life, organises events to commemorate his work and collects related material.
Items from the collection are on display at Middleton Hall.
