Whether you are a family who likes to explore the wild outdoors or experience history hands on, then Middleton Hall has something for you.

Kids will have hours of fun exploring the nature trail and playing wildlife and nature detectives. In the Hall they can explore 700 years of history, dressing in period costumes and handling artefacts from the past, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way, especially while locked in the stocks. Adults can enjoy the amazing collection of indigenous flora and fauna and the wealth of birds and animals who enjoy the natural habitats of the lake and woodland, before exploring the more formal walled gardens and orchard. They can learn about the families who lived at the Hall and the place of the Hall in local industrial history.

Enjoy the great outdoors – don your walking shoes or wellies and discover the natural wildlife along the nature trail. Or maybe find a quiet spot in our formal gardens or under a shaded tree in our orchard and lose yourself in a good book, undisturbed in the beautiful surroundings. With wide-open spaces and a tranquil lake surrounded by unspoilt scenic views, Middleton Hall is enjoyed by all ages. There really is something for everyone.

Middleton Hall hosts family friendly events throughout the year where you can meet the Easter Bunny, dance around a May Pole, learn to paint and follow children’s treasure trails. See the Events Programme for details. Add to your day a spot of retail therapy in the Middleton Hall Courtyard and a choice of family friendly venues for lunch, afternoon tea or just coffee and cake and the family have had a great day out which is hard to beat for value.
