New willow tunnels
Exploring and enjoying our outdoor spaces is more important than ever. That’s why our latest project is to introduce natural play to our grounds here at Middleton Hall & Gardens.
One of the lessons we have all learnt from the Covid-19 pandemic is how valuable our outdoor spaces are to our physical and mental wellbeing. Because of this, we are even more determined to begin implementing our vision for natural play at Middleton Hall & Gardens even if we have to take the project in smaller steps than originally planned.
Our vision for natural play is inspired by the estate’s diverse heritage and also incorporates our status as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). We asked the public what they thought and willow tunnels have proven to be very popular with young families. Therefore, the first step of our natural play project is to create living willow tunnels near the Glade with some quirky, Middleton-inspired features to make it extra special.
The natural play project as a whole is likely to cost around £5000.00, but at the moment we are just fundraising for the willow tunnels which will cost £1500.00 in total. If you would like to DONATE to this project, please click here.
