Making Middleton even better for visitors
It has undoubtedly been a long and tough winter for us all, but the staff team here at Middleton Hall & Gardens have been working really hard to make site-wide improvements to our estate. Our sole objective was to make Middleton even better for you in 2021.
One of these projects was the renovation of our Tea-room which lies in the far corner of the main Hall. Much consideration was given to how this space could be made more stylish and spacious whilst taking into account the need for a one-way system and additional outdoor seating.
Craig Hanson, our Maintenance Contractor says: “Our focus here was to make our Tea-room more welcoming, spacious and stylish, giving a modern twist to an old, historic space. We have extended the seating area to make more room for visitors, but also to allow people to exit via the back door that will lead them to more outdoor seating on the West Lawn. Tongue and groove panelling, a retro style which is starting to make a come-back, has been added and we have opted for a deep blue and classic white colour scheme. The Tea-room now has a contemporary look that still gives a nod to its historic past.”
What we offer in the Tea-room is also receiving a renovation of its own. Lisa, or ‘Little Mrs Cupcake’ as she is known, will be supplying her delicious cakes to us. From tasty tray bakes to traditional slices, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
We aim to open the Tea-room on all days that the Hall & Gardens are open, but as it will be volunteer-run we advise you to always check on our website for more information before visiting us. Our opening times can be found here.
Another exciting project that has taken place over the winter months is the addition of a willow tunnel and willow den to our grounds. They have been installed by Eddie Glew of Blithfield Willowcrafts and have been funded thanks to Warwickshire County Council.
We are only showing you a sneak peak at the moment, but we cannot wait for you and your family to enjoy them in the spring. They are just part of a wider plan to add more natural play to our grounds.
There are lots of activities and trails planned for children which you can find out more about here.
These are just two of our projects and we are excited to share more of our exciting changes and improvements with you in the spring.
