Tickets

Entrance to the Hall & Gardens will be by pre-booked online ticket entry only and the number of visitors will be capped daily. No tickets will be available to purchase at the visitor entrance point.

We are open Wednesday – Sunday 11am – 4pm and tickets are released weekly on a Tuesday. You can book up to three weeks in advance.

  • Visitors will also have to select an arrival time slot when booking which will help ease the number of people arriving at any one time.
  • The Hall buildings are open with a one way system in place, you will need to wear a face covering inside if you are over 11 years of age and do not have a medical exemption.
  • The Gardens and Grounds will be open as normal with one-way systems and passing places along some pathways.
  • Our single accessible toilet will be the only toilet open on the Hall & Gardens site.

If you would like to bring your own picnic you are very welcome but if you would prefer to order one for your visit from The Coffee Shop in our Courtyard please visit their website to see what they have to offer. How about an afternoon tea for two, freshly prepared delicious sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls, totilla crisps, fruit scones, clotted cream & strawberry jam, Brownie Bites, strawberries and a slice of cheesecake or cake each all washed down with Fentimans traditional lemonade?

Book on to a Tour

Make the most of your visit with one of our guided tours where you will discover the remarkable people who have lived and worked here over the centuries. We have two different tours to offer: our Open Air Hall Tour and our Gardens & Grounds Tour. Both are currently delivered outside in the fresh air for the safety of our visitors and staff, but they are still the same length and as insightful as our indoor tour.

Tour ticket price (adult 16+) – £13 per person.

You must pre-book your tickets online. On arrival, you will be greeted with your choice of hot drink which is included in the cost of your tour. In additional to your Tour Ticket (available below and priced at £7 per adult), you must also buy a general admission ticket. This is £6 for an Adult Ticket, bringing the total to £13 per adult as stated above. If you are a MH&G Season Pass Holders and Historic House member, you will need to book a Free Ticket in additional to your Tour Ticket. You do not need to book Tour Tickets for U16, but you do need to book them a Child entry ticket, no drinks included (please see tickets at the top of this page). We apologise for this convoluted system, our website is rather simplistic!

Please note that although it is not mandatory to wear a face covering whilst on our outdoor tours, you will need a face covering to enter our buildings from 8th August 2020. We will ensure social distancing on every tour and we ask that all visitors stay 2m from fellow visitors and staff.

Open Air Hall Tour

We are very lucky to have such an eclectic mixture of historic buildings on our estate. Many visitors spend just as much time admiring the quirky and varied exteriors of our buildings as they do exploring the insides. Our Open Air Hall Tours take you on a journey through time, starting with the Medieval Stone Building and the Norman Lord who had it built, all the way to our Georgian West Wing built by the Willoughby family who owned the Middleton Estate for nearly 500 years. The tour finishes with a short history of the Walled Garden.

  • Maximum of 12 people per tour group
  • Starts at midday. Please arrive at the visitor entrance 10 minutes early for your hot drink.
  • Lasts approximately 1 hour.
  • Tour does not go inside the buildings but you can go inside after the tour. Remember your face covering.

Gardens & Grounds Tour

Join Middleton Hall’s very own Gardener on a tour around our gardens and grounds. You will visit the historic Grade II listed Walled Garden, explore the tranquil Orchard and take a short trip along part of our SSSI registered nature walk which includes Middleton Pool, the oldest man-made lake in Warwickshire. The tour is a blend of horticultural knowledge and historical information.

  • Maximum of 12 people per tour group
  • Starts at midday. Please arrive at the visitor entrance 10 minutes early for your hot drink.
  • Lasts approximately 1 hour.
  • Remember your face covering to go inside the Hall buildings independently after your tour.
