Middleton Hall & Gardens is taking part in a nationwide project called Silent Space. This project was set up in 2016 by Liz Ware with the aim of encouraging more people to switch off technology and embrace a few moments of restfulness and quiet reflection in gardens that open to the public. We proudly offer our Walled Garden as a Silent Space on Thursdays during our main open season between 2pm and 3pm. Visitors are welcome to sit or walk around whilst quietly listening and observing the beauty and nature around them. You are welcome to visit the Walled Garden between these hours even if you do not want to use it as a Silent Space, but we ask that you respect other visitors by remaining quiet, turning your phone on to silent mode and not taking photographs.
