About the event
Set in 1645, in the aftermath of the Battle of Naseby, Parliamentarian troops of the New Model Army arrive at Middleton Hall in search of Royalist soldiers believed to have taken refuge there after the King’s defeat. With little choice, the Willughby family must host the soldiers — entirely at their own expense.
Explore the living history camps, watch pikemen train for battle and musketeers fire their weapons, see the gentry at lunch, and even join in with traditional villagers’ dancing.
11:00am – Site Opens
11:30am – Arena Dancing (all visitors welcome to participate)
1:00pm – Luncheon for the Gentry served in the Jettied Building
